Call for Artists: Public Art Project, large scale mural “Welcome to Lakeshore Village: A strong, fun and vibrant community”
Are you a visual artist or do you know one who is looking to make a mark in the public realm?
With the support of the City of Toronto and BIA Office, Lakeshore Village BIA is looking for a mural artist for their 2022 public art project.
PROJECT DETAILS
The Lakeshore Village BIA Board will select an artist to plan and execute a mural at 2788 Lake Shore Blvd. West. Submissions must take into consideration a budget of $7000 for covering the current aging mural, and planning and execution of the new mural including all equipment and supplies.
Theme: “Welcome to Lakeshore Village: A strong, fun and vibrant community” The BIA is looking to engage a local artist to produce a bright, colorful and abstract mural that shows the energy, resilience and spirit of the neighborhood. Using colors of the lake, it should incorporate the surroundings while remaining interpretive. It must also include the City of Toronto logo, the Lakeshore Village BIA logo, and “Welcome to Lakeshore Village”.
Eligibility: This is an open, Toronto-wide competition for a professional artist able to execute a large-scale outdoor wall mural and who have a connection to the neighbourhoods of Lakeshore Village and New Toronto.
